Heated Elongated Toilet Seats – Toast Those Buns!
I never, never thought I would be looking into getting heated toilet seat for the new Toto elongated toilet I installed. This past summer when we remodeled our bathroom I simply installed one of those normal elongated toilet seats you pickup at Home Depot. Being it was about 80 degrees outside when it was installed I never thought about the winter.
The other morning when I woke up it was really cold in the house(we had yet to turn on the heat). I wandered to the bathroom and sat down. Wow I jumped up so fast I nearly stumbled into the shower! That seat was cold man…
So I went on the internet here and was searching for information about heated toilet seats, come to find out they also make heated toilet seat covers(for those of you who sit on the toilet with the lid closed) or elongated toilet lid covers that are heated, when you are getting ready for work or school etc…
Come to find out very few companies make heated elongated toilet seats, so far I have been able to find one by Kohler, Toto, Ultratouch and Brondell. But out of all those manufacturers I have yet to be able to find one that fits an elongated toilet. If you know of one please let me know, I will pay double.
If I had access to so funds I surely would develop a padded heated toilet seat, for both elongated and regular toilets. I am sure they would sell very well in cold climates.
I guess since to be heated they have to have a source of electricity, and with it being so close to water many companies are scared to tackle the challenge.
With proper research and a team of engineers this big companies have access to I cannot believe coming up with a safe design for a heated seat is that hard, maybe they do not think the demand is out there.
One of the up and coming heated toilet seat products is heated seats that are heated via battery power. Right now it really isn’t practical but as batteries get smaller in size with greater power this may be something we see in our house in the future.
